Here they show that they can go from attacking furious tracks to longer moodier tunes, and balancing a lot of their material in between those two styles. THIS IS FUCKING GREAT. an amazing and totally bleak and definitely their best (4th) LP from this finnish band, combining a more muted and moody take on DISFEAR-style rocked out guitar riffs, savagely shouted vocals ala’ VICTIMS, and then the dark and epic scope of NEUROSIS (and their slower, low end lumbering) , TRAGEDY (mood carrying guitar riffs and solos) ARTIMUS PYLE (bursting from all of that into wicked thrash) and their ilk. The Recording is crazy serious and megalithic, allowing the weight of the riffs to be literally oppressive and powerful then just clearing enough space for the band to blast fast thrashier parts. top knotch musician ship, the mood of the whole affair somber as it can get, and while this metallic influenced crust style is seems at times almost completely currently dismissed stateside / locally, if you like any of the five bands I just mentioned, buy this immediately. Proud to have Prophecy of Doom back on Agipunk, one of the bands that truly broke the barriers between the hardcore scene, death metal and grindcore from the late 80's on. One of the heaviest and most destructive band coming from UK in these years, always loyal to their punk attitude and with a strong concern on lyrics. After a demo in 1988, they have released "Calculated mind rape" 7" in 1989, then in 1990 the output on Peaceville the band is mostly known for, "Acknowledge the confusion master" Lp (also released as a split Cd with Axegrinder), In the same year the released a live 7" ("Until the again") and the "Peel sessions" 12". After the "Matrix" Cd in 1992 (on Metalcore), their last output has been the 3-song demo "Ego-deathgrind" in 1996. Agipunk has released a now sold-out 7" in 2007 featuring 2 songs off that demo.
