AGE OF COLLAPSE postpones tour due to injury

Bummer! Age of Collapse has to postpone their tour due to a severe back injury with their drummer, Steve. Here’s a statement from the band. They will be postponing the tour until the summer, so stay tuned for updates. We wish Steve a speedy recovery!

Hey everyone. It is with great sadness that I must announce that we are bagging our two week Spring Tour.

Several days ago Steve herniated a disk in his back while at work, which pinched a nerve and disabled some of the functionality in his left leg. He will be going through 6 weeks of physical therapy, which he should be fully healed after. Keep your fingers crossed that he makes a speedy recovery and will be blasting drums again soon.

We are discussing a 3 week tour in late July through early August, when Steve is better, to make up for it. We will also be writing new material in the down town.

I only write about the music I feel, and one label that always releases music I feel is Seattle’s Aborted Society. Last week, they put out the new Future Ruins album, and it’s so strong that it’s like listening to metallic crust on steroids. The band is in a straight zone from the opening song, “Crown of Creation,” until the last song, “Collapse.” Future Ruins fires dis-beat fire into your ears with every second that it blasts through your speakers. It’s the tones of empathy and conviction that this band possesses that really make the hairs on my knuckles stand up. Future Ruins know how to create major pockets of crustified melody in their compositions. Living in a society that is filled with so much corruption, the lyrics that this band writes resonate with me on a deeper level. It’s beyond our honor that today, CVLT Nation has a chance to share the new Future Ruins in full! Mixtapes, Round 3!

It’s been awhile since we’ve made an update on this initiative, so here is the rest of the submissions that have trickled in since the last post. Things have been hectic label wise and we haven’t had the opportunity to properly document all this stuff, whilst at the same time waiting for the last stragglers to make it in before we make this final shipment. The breadth of territory these mixes come from is pretty boggling; Slovenija, Sweden, France, UK, Portugal, China… it has been so awesome seeing these submissions and the creativity put into them. We’ve made direct contact with someone in Aceh able to get these in the right hands, so keep your fingers crossed! We’d like to thank all of you whom have participated and come together for this initiative. We will hopefully report back with some results soon, stay posted, and stay punk! – ASR -

We are now accepting pre-orders for the FUTURE RUINS s/t LP. This is the limited US version (only 100 copies) on swamp green/silver A-Side B-Side wax with bronze splatters. Vinyl will ship out the week of 4/9/2012. We are really stoked on this record and you should be too!

This is a crushing debut full-length by FUTURE RUINS, a five-piece metallic crust outfit hailing from various parts of Sweden (Skåne/Göteborg/Stockholm). There are similarities from their previous incarnation of MASSMORD, however along with the name change came a more complex shift in songwriting. The result is an invariably tight hardcore punk/metal hybrid painted across a lyrically dystopian backdrop. This a wall of crash laden d-beat crust and some remarkably dark and melodic breakdowns all moving at a breakneck pace. Recorded and Mastered by Ulf Blomberg at Hobo Studios, this has a very classic Swedish death metal production sound while retaining some essential rawness. A co-operative release with Halvfabrikat (SWE), Social Bomb (DE), and Aborted Society (US).
