  • Sacramento, CA's CAULFIELD deliver a debut album loaded with epic and tragic sounding metallic hardcore.  Imagine mixing huge crusty parts with a dash of Cleveland hardcore, and then fusing it together with a incredibly bleak and tragic instrumental interludes served as loud as possible. FFO: His Hero Is Gone, Integrity, Neurosis
  • This is the second full-length release from COUNTDOWN TO ARMAGEDDON, a 3-piece based in Seattle, WA whose sound originated in apocalyptic crust and progressed into more melodic, post-punk territories over the past eight years of their tenure. Thick layers of reverb and chorus-effected darkwave riffs, sometimes reminiscent of early KILLING JOKE or AMEBIX, weave in and out of the lines between punk, hardcore, and d-beat crust, while retaining a unique identity in each of the eight tracks on the album. Lyrically this album addresses the conflict between the artificial and natural worlds, and the struggle to preserve humanity in an increasingly digitized and bleak dystopian future. Through a reconnection to nature the path toward destruction can be altered, and thereby escaping the psychological constraints of the modern age. Recorded at Buzz or Howl Studios by Stan Wright (Arctic Flowers) in Portland, OR, and mastered by Jack Control (WB2D) at Enormous Door Studios in Austin, TX.

THIS IS FUCKING GREAT. an amazing and totally bleak and definitely their best (4th) LP from this finnish band, combining a more muted and moody take on DISFEAR-style rocked out guitar riffs, savagely shouted vocals ala’ VICTIMS, and then the dark and epic scope of NEUROSIS (and their slower, low end lumbering) , TRAGEDY (mood carrying guitar riffs and solos) ARTIMUS PYLE (bursting from all of that into wicked thrash) and their ilk. The Recording is crazy serious and megalithic, allowing the weight of the riffs to be literally oppressive and powerful then just clearing enough space for the band to blast fast thrashier parts. top knotch musician ship, the mood of the whole affair somber as it can get, and while this metallic influenced crust style is seems at times almost completely currently dismissed stateside / locally, if you like any of the five bands I just mentioned, buy this immediately. AWESOME.

Re-release of their 2005 masterpiece! Ictus formed in 2004 in Galicia/Spain and deliver fucking excellent modern dark and epic Hardcorepunk. Besides showing definately similarities to Ekkaia, Tragedy or even Catharsis, they are a brand of their own! With 3 guitar players  and a hellish aggressive singer they manage to unleash such a wall of frustration and anger to leave me speechless when I first had a listen! Dark and heavy hardcore crust with undeniable hints to blackmetalmelodies + some ambiental parts and screaming political thoughts all over against those times we are living in today.... - this is the perfect soundtrack to fuck shit up! Co-production with Skuld Releases, In My Heart Empire on black vinyl w/ lyric insert.

Decomposition, the second full-length by US / UK / German collective Cross Stitched Eyes, follows in the tradition of anarchist punk and demonised death rock (Rudimentary Peni, Amebix and Killing Joke). Embracing the many irrational and visceral shades of this style's darkest corners, the album decidedly rejects traditional copy-and-paste guidelines of musical conformity with a puncturing attitude. The harsher side of Cross Stitched Eyes derives directly from the band's artistic influences and its deconstructed presentation. Decomposition's leadoff track "We Follow" evokes reactions to seemingly unchanging lifestyles with a vitriolic diatribe. Others like "Animated Corpse" and "Earth's Defiant" display a lyrical depth seldom heard these days. At times benign, at others aggressive, Decomposition explores the complicated relationship between dark and light in a repulsive world filled with gloom. 12 new tracks recorded between 2010 and 2011 and mastered by Skott Brown of the Phantom Limbs.  Black vinyl, Skuld Releases version.

  • ifferences and a potential lawsuit over their chosen name, 2009 saw the death of swedens ICOS, a band known for its crushing impassioned resonance. In the years that followed, brothers Erik and Oskar Karlsson and Martin Bengtsson took the spirit of their former band and worked at creating a larger, more ominous and ultimately more considered sound, with their new drummer David Flood. This band would become MONACHUS. capturing an organic timbre that invokes images of these swedes toiling over beloved instruments, their debut album OUT OF THE BLUE draws influence from brooding sludge metal, yet invokes a sense of timeless peace, surging waves of sung and growled voices, raucous walls of guitars and emotive poise. comes in 180 gram vinyl, A4 Poster and heavy cover.

Ripping metallic d-beat punk/crust from Malmo, Sweden.  Really awesome production, artwork and packaging.  Totally over the top motorcrust, definitely recommended. 12 tracks on black vinyl from Not Enough Records (Sweden).
  • The second album from this band from Slovenia, this first came out on CD and I had heard it was coming out on vinyl so I delayed for around year before I could get my hands on it, well worth the wait gate-fold cover and coloured vinyl, but nevermind that stuff the music itself is fantastic and crustal sound that reminds me a lot of Scotitsh Anarcho/crust bands like Scatha, Sedition and Constant Fear with lyrical subjects dealing with Animal Liberation, Homophobia and other sorts of topics along the same lines. Anaeroba have a great sound that is kinda of 10 years behind the sound of crust today which seems to be all the slowed down epic build ups and this is great as it is playing stuff that we love but it is only played by bands that seem not to exist anymore. Real kinda filthy Crust that seems to take the best parts of the best bands and mash it into their sound. Artwork done by Stiv. Tis great stuff and well worth checking out.
