History:
KOHOSH
is a melodic d-beat, anarcho-punk band from Seattle, WA. Fusing elements of early peace-punk with latter-era crust, Kohosh uses a powerful combination of driving rhythm with flowing and layered melodies to paint a landscape that is as much melancholic as it is triumphant. Addressing conflicts both internally and externally about the increasingly alienating and repressive culture we live in, Kohosh offers an introspective and personal take on the politics and struggles of modern punk and cultures of resistance.

Formed in 2009 as a five-piece outfit of guitar, bass, cello, drums and vocals, Kohosh soon made a few adjustments adding a second guitar player and a change at drums before recording their 12″ ep “Survival Guide” in 2010. This release (co-released by Persons Unknown, Tujaca Fala, Cut The Cord That…Records and Tomorrow Belongs To Us) was a solid document of the band’s initial works as well as a glimpse into an evolving style that would later be sourced on the upcoming split with Adelit@s on Aborted Society Records in 2014. Kohosh has played numerous gigs in the Northwest as well as a west coast tour in 2011. Look for them touring the west coast in August 2014 in support of their new split 12”.
